SERENDIPITY, the highest scoring (85.4) horse at the INDA USDF BS held June 27th. Serendipity means a fortunate result by accident. I would like to say this filly is the result of years of careful breeding, but indeed she is the result of my young colt jumping the 5 foot galvanized pipe corral to breed my husband' s TB mare Bonnie, whom he bought because he liked the way she rolled. Bonnie is an ex-race horse that we unsuccessfully tried to make into a pack horse on a trip through the Bob Marshall Wilderness. I was very fortunate to get such a nice filly from the match. I did plan to breed my colt, Cord, who has some very interesting bloodlines to the mare Bonnie, but on MY terms and when I decided if and when it would be the right thing to do. The horses had other ideas. |
